Tips from the Field: Cold Weather

When the weather begins to get colder, remember your furry four-legged family members like to be warm too. They may look like they can handle the cold weather, but make sure they have some protection from the elements. A dog house or kennel with a blanket they can use to keep their body heat is always a good start. For animals who spend the majority of their lives outside, some extra food during colder weather will give their bodies extra energy. And of course, if possible, bring them inside if the temperatures get extremely low.
